First aid training is currently suspended as courses require face to face assessment which is currently not allowed as a scouting activity.
GLSW intend to resume first aid training when the area reaches the green readiness level as outlined at scouts.org.uk/coronavirus
If your first aid expired (if it has been 3 years since your last course) since the suspension of face to face scouting your current certificate will remain valid cover for scout activities until 6 months after the area reaches the green readiness level.
If you need module 10 (first aid) to complete your woodbadge you may attend an online training course as agreed with your training adviser who may validate the module on theory alone. NOTE: you will still be required to complete a practical assessment within 6 months of the area reaching the green readiness level for your first aid to cover scout activities.
If you are unable to find a suitable online course to complete your woodbadge please contact the County Training Manager to express interest in a county run virtual course.

Adults can now book First Aid Courses using the following link, the courses are free of charge for leaders in GLSW and there are a number of dates for full and update courses running within the county.
Following completion of the course a Scout First Response certificate is issued.
Leaders requiring a First Aid Training module (module 10) can do a full course followed by 2 update courses, they must then do another full course.
A number of exemptions allow leaders to use existing qualifications meaning they do not need to do this course.
