Flying Opportunities Published
In 2011 we successfully trialled flying from Fairoaks Airfield and Mark Veitch, our Ait Activities Advisor plans to do so again this year.
Possible dates are as follows for the near future are:
28th April; 5th May; 19th May
The cost is £30 per head and there is a need to fill an aircraft or the cost will rise proportionally.
If you are interested could you contact Mark Veitch, our Air Activities Advisor on firstname.lastname@example.org
Another good reason to come along on 19th May; there will be a fly-past for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee at Windsor, comprising of two separate aircraft formations – nine Typhoon fighter jets open the event, followed later by a large mixed formation which will include two formations of Tucano and Hawk aircraft; The Red Arrows; and aircraft from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight. In all there will be a total of 85 aircraft taking part in the flypasts. The word on the QT is that the Vulcan may also be taking part, but that hasn’t been confirmed yet.
The best part is that they’ll be visible from Fairoaks, and it’s free! (they’ll be flying overhead from the South on their way to Windsor)
We’re not sure of the exact time yet, but the airspace is closed from 09:30 to 11:30 – so if you want to see it, you’ll need to get there early!
