Calling Executive Committee Members

Dear Colleagues,

Do you want to know more about the strategic plan that will lead us to achieve our Vision 2018 for Scouting and what it means for your committee?

Do you feel confident in your committee's plans for managing risk?

Do you know what the future changes in the UKHQ membership fee structure may mean for your members?

A One-day workshop is being offered for Executive Officers (Chair, Secretaries, Treasurers) to help answer these questions and to provide Executive Committee members with the support they need. The workshop will be facilitated by Headquarters and County volunteers and will be held on:

  • Sat 28th March 2015 10am 4pm Antoinette Hotel Wimbledon, SW19 1SD

The aim of the workshops is to provide an opportunity for officers of Executive Committees at a County/District/Group Executive Officers level to explore governance issues related to their roles; to share the experiences of operational issues faced by Executive Committees; and to provide the County with feedback on how services to Executive Committee officers can be improved.

The programme will cover many topics including:

  • Our strategy for 2018
  • Governance matters - such as trustee and legal responsibilities; recruiting committee members; ensuring meetings are effective; AGMs
  • Finance, payroll and fundraising matters
  • New national membership subscription structure
  • Risk management
  • Insurance
  • Training for Executive Committee members
  • Chance to ask questions

There is no charge for attending the workshop and a buffet lunch/refreshments will be provided. We regret we are unable to cover any costs of your travel or any accommodation required. Dress code is casual, uniform is not required.

Due to the capacity of the venue we are limited to 100 delegates and therefore places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
