Children’s Literary Festival - Imperial War Museum 13-21 August
Between 13 and 21 August, the Imperial War Museum is organising an exciting Children's Literary Festival linked to their Once upon a Wartime exhibition.
The Festival will include talks and workshops by authors and illustrators like Michael Morpurgo (War Horse, Private Peaceful etc), Marcia Williams (Archie’s War), Martin Brown (illustrator of Horrible Histories), Michelle Magorian (Goodnight Mr Tom) and Jane Serrailler (daughter of author of The Silver Sword).
And for the football mad amongst you, there is also a special talk given by Tom Palmer who is writing a story taken from the true story of a Chelsea footballer who served in trenches in the First World War who won two medals for bravery and who scored the first goal for England in the first international after the war ended.
There are also half day workshops on drama, art and poetry run by The National Theatre (War Horse), and The Polka Theatre (play in a day).
