The next Air Experience event will take place on SUNDAY 22nd JANUARY 2012 at Fairoaks Airport near Chobham, Surrey. A weather back-up date of Sunday 29th January has also been booked. The cost per seat is £35.

Meeting at noon, there will be a short introduction by the aircrew and a safety briefing, followed by a 20-minute flight, routeing around Guildford, Frensham Ponds, Dorking and Ockham. Subject to availability, there may also be a tour of the hangar, control tower and a training aircraft.

The aircraft will be either a Piper Chieftain PA31 (9 passengers + pilot), and/or a Piper Warrior PA28 (3 passengers + pilot), depending on numbers. So that it becomes cost-effective, we will need a minimum of 6 passengers for this event.

Drinks and hot & cold food are available on-site, at the Hangar Café, where there is also a viewing area; unfortunately only food bought at the café can be consumed there. There is also adequate free parking.

THE SMALL PRINT

Attached is a booking form, which should be completed and returned to Mark Veitch via email (ukmveitch@hotmail.com)  no later than 2 weeks before the event date. It is important that ages and weights are included on the form, so that each flight can be properly planned for fuel and loading.

Each flight will require an adult to be on board (in addition to the pilot), and the seat paid for; you may want to consider increasing the seat cost for each Scout flying, in order to subsidise the accompanying adult where more than one flight by that adult is required.

For insurance purposes, only members (of Scout age and above) may fly.

Due to the nature of the event, and the fact that it is heavily discounted and provided by an Air Charter company, all bookings must be considered as confirmed once the booking form has been sent. Individual cancellations made within the 2-week period before the event will need to be charged for.

Unfortunately, it may be necessary to cancel the event at very short notice; it is impossible to predict the weather so far in advance, and sometimes it’s only on the morning of the event that a final ‘go’ can be decided. With that in mind, we endeavour to keep Leaders updated nearer the time, either by email, text or phone – so please include those details on the form.
