Queen’s Scout Award Reception 2007

Some 130 Explorers and Network members from around the country gathered at the Tate Modern over the weekend 20th–21st October 2007 to receive Scouting’s highest honour – the Queen’s Scout Award.

The awards were presented by Chief Scout Peter Duncan. Referring to Doris Salcedo’s Shibboleth, the controversial chasm that stretches the length of the Turbine Hall, he talked of the symbolic dividing line between the UK’s have and have-nots. “Scouting has such an important role to play today”, he said, “in bridging that divide”.

The GLSW recipients were Claire Dunne, James Gordon, Claire Peacock, Fergus Taylor and Emma Wilson.
