What is GAPP?

GAPP is the Global Awareness Partnership Project, a joint project between The Scout Association and the Federation of Young Farmers Clubs and was partly funded by the DfEE. A resource pack called 'Bridging the GAPP' has been created and continues to develop, to provide fun activities focused on Global Issues of concern to young people worldwide. The pack is centred on the idea of peer education and learning through participation.

Topic areas include; Impact on The Environment, Healthy Living, It's Not Fair (Global Inequality and injustice), Spending Your Money, Insight (Blindness) and One Wrong Step (Land Mines). New topic areas are continually under development.

A number of GAPPsters (Young Leaders, Explorer Scouts and Scout Network) have been trained to work with other young people and present unbiased information to empower the young people they are working with to make their own informed decisions and choices.
