Scout Fellowship

“We’re here to help” – Providing Active Support

What is the Scout Fellowship?

The Scout Fellowship is a body of Adults who wish to actively support Scouting, but are unable to accept the regular commitments of a warranted position. The Scout Fellowship is open to anybody over the age of 18 – there is no upper age limit.

Who does the Scout Fellowship?

The Scout Fellowship will consider any requests for service, primarily from within the Scout Movement but also from the community at large. All service requests are judged on their merit and our availability, although we do not seek to take on the responsible role of the permanent leader of an individual group.

How is the Scout Fellowship Organised?

Like all other recognised Sections of the Movement the Fellowship has a National and County Organisation with its own Assistant County Commissioner. Within the Districts the Scout Fellowships are totally democratic units, with Members discussing requests for service and all other aspects, many with their own Assistant District Fellowships elect their own organising committees at AGMs each year. The members of the Scout Fellowship also enjoy an active social programme, and there are opportunities for continuing your training through the Scout Network.

How is the Scout Fellowship Financed?

All Local Scout Fellowships are self financing, with annual subscriptions set by the Members. In common with all Members of the Scout Movement we pay Headquarters and Area/County District Subscriptions.

Many members hold Wood Badges, Form M’s,C’s and W’s, First Aid certificates and other qualifications. Remember if they can’t help they will know a man who can! If you think the Scout Fellowship can help you just ask. Contact your local Chairman, ADC SF or ACC/AAC/CA Scout Fellowship.

How do I join the Scout Fellowship?

If you are over the age of 18 and want to actively support the work of the Scout Movement with young people, learn some new skills and at the same time enjoy the fun and social activities of the Scout Fellowship, please give us a call. You don’t have to have been a Member of the Scout Movement to join us. What ever time you have to offer, be it only an hour occasionally, we will make use of it to the benefit of the young people. Present Members are very welcome to join us, but it is understood that Group and Section commitments have first call on your time. If you would like further details please contact the Assistant County Commissioner Fellowship or the Scout Information Centre on 0845 300 1818.
