
Assistant Beaver Scout Leader (ABSL) Job Description
What is involved?
- Help run a weekly meeting for 1 hour, 6 to 8 year olds
- Helping to plan the programmes for the above meetings (1 hour a week)
- Following the Beaver Scout programme including the opening ceremony, games and training on many kinds of activities
- Attend Beaver sleep-overs and outings as appropriate
- Attend District meetings and activities
- Assist with collection of subs/membership fees and completion of Beaver record cards
- Attending group activities
- Assist GSL with recruitment of new young people and adults
What help do I get?
- Training to help you plan programmes
- Training to help you run the balanced programme
- P.T.A. (personal training advisor)
- Meetings with the leadership team who will offer support & advice
- The Group Executive Committee takes care of all management issues and fund-raising
- Help from members of the District Team
- (training is paid for via group/district and grants available)
