The GLSW Guide to UK Scout Campsites
How to find a campsite
To find a campsite, try searching for:
- the campsite name (or the first 1–3 letters),
- the campsite location (town, county or area),
- one or more keywords,
- a six-figure grid reference (for example TQ387965)
or click anywhere on the map for a list of sites within a 25-mile radius.
Please note that the locations displayed for some sites may be approximate and that the distances take no account of geographical features.

About the GLSW Guide to UK Scout Campsites
This guide is based on Ian Newbery's series of campsite reviews (Ian is now National Activity Adviser for Campsites and Activity Centres). The owners and wardens of the campsites provided most of the information. Additional information has been compiled from the Internet and from the campsite directory published by The Scout Association.
Please let us know if you notice any errors or omissions in the guide by sending details to campsites@glswscouts.org.uk. If you have any comments on any of the campsites that you think would be useful to fellow Scouters then please use the “add note” form that follows each campsite entry.
Further campsite information is available from the ScoutBaseUK Campsite Directory and from the National, County and District Campsite Directory obtainable from the Information Centre at Gilwell Park.
