The Stair Climb Challenge - Up For It?
One of the City of Londonís tallest building is to become the home to CLIC Sargentís first ever stair climbing event and you are invited to join them!
On Thursday 1st November 2012, they are giving you to the chance to race up 888 steps, 37 floors of Heron Tower; in order to raise funds to help CLIC Sargent continue to provide it's vital services for children and young people with cancer and for their families throughout the UK
The event is open to all abilities and fitness levels, and the time taken to complete the event will be determined by your own ability and speed. The race will be accurately timed using professional chip timers, and results will be accessible online but also sent to participants via SMS. There will be awards for the fastest man and fastest women, along with incentives for the top fundraisers.
Once you have completed the race, you can enjoy the breath taking views while enjoying provided refreshments on completion.
No experience is necessary and the minimum participant age is 16 years old. The event takes place from 6pm. There will be a number of waves to set off to ensure there are not too many people clogging up the stairwells. There will be marshalls on a number of the floors to keep things running smoothly.
To take part all you need to do is call 020 8752 2893 to register your interest. The registration fee is £15 per person and participants are asked to set themselves a target sponsorship of £150 per person.
Participants who sign up will be sent a fundraising pack, including sponsorship forms and information about CLIC Sargent. They will also receive a training plan designed by the legendary 90ís fitness instructor - Mr Motivator; youíll be getting to the top in no time!!
