Young up and coming designer Sarah Elenany is working with the Scouts to look at how girls feel about the clothes they wear for Scouting. As a young Muslim woman Sarah has been particularly interested in how members are catered, including our Muslim Scouts. At the start of the year a workshop was held where a group of girls came together to discuss what they like about the clothes they wear. As a result of this workshop, Sarah has come up with some designs for some funky new clothing for girls to wear in Scouting.
A follow up workshop this week will show the designs and mock ups of the clothes, as well as a funky Scout Print that Sarah has designed. She will also be hosting a Q&A on the fashion industry and how the design process and print process works. Sarah is looking for feedback on the designs and more thoughts about how our girls feel about the clothes they wear.
The workshop will be taking place at on Sunday 15th May at 2pm at the Jagonari Women’s Educational Resource Centre 183- 185 Whitechapel Road London E1 1DW, and will last for roughly 2 hours. If you would like to attend email email@example.com
