Chiltern 20 Challenge Hike for Scouts
Scouts from GLSW are warmly invited to take part in the Chiltern 20 Challenge Hike, Saturday 17th October 2015
The Chiltern 20 Challenge is a long established team hike in The Chiltern Hills, organised by Greater London North Scout County. The event is open to all Scout Association youth members in the Scout Troop Section not having reached the age of fourteen and a half.
Each team comprises of between three and five Scouts. Adults are allowed to accompany the team for reasons of safety.
The event is a test of good orienteering skills as well as physical ability and teamwork and unlike other hikes, the routes are different each year and so local knowledge will not be of help as the route will not be disclosed until the day of the event. All teams therefore start with exactly the same chance of winning a trophy. There will be a choice of routes this year. The main event will be around 17 miles in length, plus a shorter route (about 7 miles) for 12 year olds and under.
